Kevin Montgomery, a 6’2” 190 lb defenseman, is presently playing for the Rodovre Mighty Bulls in Denmark. Prior to playing in Europe, Kevin played 5 years in the AHL for Lake Erie and Oklahoma City where the offensive minded D-man put up 10-20 points a season. Kevin was selected #110 overall in round 4 of the NHL draft to the Colorado Avalanche.

His hockey career started in NY where he won the 2002-03 New York Bantam Championships with the Buffalo Selects. During this time, Montgomery was chosen for the USA Hockey Select 14, 15, and 16 camps. Following youth hockey, Kevin moved on to Junior Hockey in 2003-04, tallying 35 points in 62 games (seven goals, 28 assists) playing for the Syracuse Stars.

Kevin Montgomery was selected for the prestigious USA U-17 National Team Development Program, and from the blue line he recorded 25 points (six goals, 19 assists) and 56 PIM in 55 games, In the Four Nations Cup, he helped Team USA finish first and tallied a goal and an assist. Stepping up to the Team USA U-18 team the next year, Montgomery recorded 22 points (six goals, 16 assists) and 76 PIMs in 59 games. He played in all 22 games against NCAA opponents and recorded six points (one goal, five assists). He continued to play a very physical game, leading the team in penalty minutes against NCAA opposition with 45 PIM. After a short time playing 17 games with Ohio State University (CCHA), he moved on to the perennial powerhouse London Knights, where his skills further developed and he was a US National Team World Juniors selection.
